Usually I always avoided the lobby floor to avoid getting questioned when start filming elevators, unless that the elevator banks are hidden or not too close with the lobby or reception desk. I usually start filming elevators on the upper or lower floors where it is safe.

Near the end of the video, you can clearly hear the emergency intercom suddenly activated and a person (or security guards) is speaking. I think what the security guard meant is that he is asking me to stop filming the elevator and leave the hotel immediately, possibly because at the date when I went to that hotel (November 2012), I film all the elevators which has CCTV installed in every elevators. Then the security guard must be watching me in each elevators I've filmed and suspected that I was trespassing and did something suspicious in his opinion. I was speechless and didn't attempt to talk to the guard, let me finished my video and quickly leave the hotel. This is actually my first time experiencing like this.

Also, in conclusion to above, I've created a list of "places that I have avoided to film elevators", the places are:

• Kutabex Shopping Mall - after my experience* in there, I swear to never return to that mall again.
• Harris Sunset Road Hotel - after the experience above, unless I visited my family who stays in there.

Maybe because you are older than Sam and me, making your face looks most like an adult. I think they only question children that enter hotels alone.

So far I've never experienced anything like this in most smaller hotels in Bali. It seems that hotel staffs and security guards in most hotels in Bali do not really care about non-guest people entering the hotel. Even when I went to Ibis Styles Kuta Circle Hotel twice, a security guard at the entrance did see me but I didn't get questioned. This case is also similar in Mercure Kuta Hotel, but with two guards at the lobby entrance. Hopefully I won't get questioned when I went to another hotel in Bali (except for larger and upscale hotels like St. Regis, Westin, Nikko, etc.*)

Maybe if I were you (Samuel), I would asked to go to the toilet.

Happened April 7th, 2013; 12.30 PM when I was getting in Aston Hotel Pluit, I entered the building without getting questioned. But after a little bit finding the elevators, I got questioned by the security: "Bapak* mau ke lantai berapa? (Sir, which floor were you going to?)" REPEATEDLY until I got mad and left the building. I'll go there again when I got to stay there. They have to just wait for my time (not on this HUGEnding)

*I was called "Bapak"/Sir because my face looks like an adult and I had my bag in me at that time and if you want to know, I wore brown shirt
