Title: Dissapointed Post by: SchindlerLift1874 on April 18, 2013, 05:44:30 Just posted after my disappointed experience...
Anyway, I went to Oberoi Street in the evening, and I found a [don't know the name] Hotel and I decided to visit it. But there is a problem; there is a security guard at the main entrance. I use the "bathroom trick" and ask the guard, and he cares. He then tells me to go to the basement to find another guard. Once I've reached the basement, I meet another guard and he tells me the toilet. What surprised me is that there is no access to the hotel itself. I tried to find another door but failed due to security guard. Impossible, I just leave the hotel (all I find is just a dumbwaiter in there). I walked back to Oberoi Street feeling quite disappointed... :-\ This is my first experience entered a hotel but failed to film the elevators. For info: The elevators are using LCD screen on the hall fixtures, probably SJEC. Well, maybe someday I will film that elevator if I'm lucky, but I highly ever doubt that. Title: Re: Dissapointed Post by: Samuel on April 18, 2013, 06:30:46 Same as what happened to me back in April 2012 in Shangri-La Jakarta and recently Crowne Plaza Jakarta
Title: Re: Dissapointed Post by: SchindlerLift1874 on April 18, 2013, 06:46:55 Sorry about those rude posts I've posted on my YouTube and Elevatorpedia, that shows me how pissed off about that hotel (yes now I hate that).
Same as what happened to me back in April 2012 in Shangri-La Jakarta and recently Crowne Plaza Jakarta How did you failed at Crowne Plaza Jakarta? Title: Re: Dissapointed Post by: SchindlerLift1874 on May 18, 2013, 08:41:50 Now I've realized something:
After my "12 Elevators in 1 Day" where I go to 7 different hotels, I didn't get questioned because they don't care and I never ask a permission to go to the toilet, restaurant or event. From now on, I will always ignore security guards standing on the hotel's entrance because they won't asking me, and I will never asks a permission unless I'm getting questioned. This also proves to be 99% successful on previous hotels I've visited before this "disappointed day" (also for the 7 different hotels). Maybe in that day, I was actually wrong because I was ask a permission to use the toilet and caused me to failed finding the elevators. Maybe someday when I happened to be in Oberoi Street, I will tried to enter that [undisclosed hotel] to film the elevators, and hopefully I will not get familirized by the same guard who was escorting me to the toilet before (well I will just gonna ignore him no matter what). Maybe try walking in when a car is entering a hotel if you were questioned at the entrance gate*, so that the guard will be focusing on that car instead of you. If you were questioned at the entrance door**, try waiting until a driver stops at the drop-off area, and follow people who get off the car.Maybe someday when I happened to be in Oberoi Street, I will tried to enter that [undisclosed hotel] to film the elevators, and hopefully I will not get familirized by the same guard who was escorting me to the toilet before (well I will just gonna ignore him no matter what). *Entrance gate: Where cars enter and people walk in to the hotel area. **Entrance door: Where people walk in to the hotel building. Sadly, that hotel doesn't have a drop in/off area. The lobby entrance is actually facing the street. The least thing I can enter the hotel is when the guard is not looking at me, so I can quickly enter the hotel. Alright, I have recently visited that "disappointed" hotel (name IZE Hotel Seminyak) and bypass the entrance without any problem. Luckily the security guard is different from the last time I came there. Elevators are KONE with LCD indicators and I have filmed them all.
